How To Use Prepaid Debit Cards To Purchase Citizenship and $hop Items

Premium $hop items and Citizenship are fun items that Chobots offers for us to add to our game play and really enjoy Chobots' full potential. Unfortunately, some of us have parents who do not have credit cards, making it hard to purchase items online! However, you can purchase pre-paid Debit cards, or better known as Visa or American Express Giftcards. These are basically just like credit cards. They only charge a one time fee of five or six dollars, and then you can use them. You can make purchases at a bunch of stores online that accepts these cards, and you can even use them in a variety of local shops and stores! No matter what, make sure to always have your parent's permission before making online purchases.

The two cards I recommend are Visa gift cards and American Express gift cards. You can find these at any big-box store near you. Target, Vons, Walmart, etc. Any store that has a Gift Card section!

If you have the choice of either card, I'd choose a Visa gift card. The reason I prefer this card over American Express is how convenient they are. In order to make online purchases, you have to register your pre-paid card to your name, address, and phone number. With Visa gift cards, you can simply do this by going to a website and then registering it. As with American Express gift cards, you have to call customer service and have them register it for you. 

How to register your card: 

If you purchased a Visa gift card, make sure to keep all of the packaging. Some Visa cards you have to register following different steps, depending on the edition or type you received/bought. If you can, purchase just a regular Visa gift card. These are just plain silver and they do not come in any fancy packaging. 

To register this Visa card, just click here. Once you have registered your card to your house address, name, and phone number, you are ready to make purchases! You can check your balance and keep track of your purchases by using that website as well.

As for American Express gift cards, to register this card you have to call customer service. The number I call is this number: 1877-AXP-GIFT. Just ask to talk to a live person and tell them you would like to register your pre-paid giftcard. Customer service is very nice, so don't be shy! 

Once you have registered your American Express gift card, you can check the balance by calling the phone number above, or simply by going to their actual website! 

If you didn't purchase an American Express nor a Visa gift card, but it's still a pre-paid card, there is pretty much always a way to register it. Refer to the packaging to see if there are instructions on how to register it, or just do an internet search. In order to make purchases online, you must register it. Make sure to keep all packaging from your pre-paid card, because you usually always need it!
